18/09/2023Reform your electrical installation Our home is our refuge, where we are going to spend a large part of our time, so it is as important to create a space where we feel comfortable as it is for that space to be safe. Trends change as we evolve, and in this process, we try to adapt our home to our new needs. Our home evolves with us, new dryer is an example of how new tech could improve our lifestyle. But we often forgetthat the electrical installation requires to evolve too, it’s important to update it and renovate it to keep our home safe Obsolete electrical installations An electrical installation renovation, in addition to allowing you to add new appliances and functionalities to your home in an appropriate way, will also make it much safer. Over time, the wiring wears out, the electrical panel becomes too small and this can pose a risk of fire or electrocution, hence the importance of its renewal. And if what you are looking for is the modernization of your home or energy savings, the renovation could also include new functionalities thanks to low-cost home automation or a solar panels installation. At Alcasur S.L. is a professional company that works with top quality materials. Our technicians will be willing to help you with whatever you need to plan the renovation and make your home a more comfortable and safer place for you and your loved ones. 01/08/2023Low-Cost Smart Home Installation After long days at work, you look forward to get home and be able to enjoy your family and hobbies. We don’t want the house supposes us effort. Housework is hard, and we know that any little comfort you have is something that at the end of the day helps you appreciate what really matters. For this reason, we launched our campaigns for low-cost smart home installations. More and more homes have an electronic assistant such as Alexa or Google home, and the best complement for them are low-cost home automation elements, which are used to control any device with your mobile, tablet or voice assistant. Turning lights or plugs on and off, lowering and raising blinds, irrigation control or alarms are examples of things that we will control with home automation and will make day-to-day life in your home easier. If I have an electric water heater and I don’t want it to consume a lot, I program it to turn on and off when I want. If I go on vacation, I will program the living-room and bedroom blinds to open at 9:00 a.m. and close at 11:00 p.m., and I will also turn on the living-room light in from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and then the one in the bedroom for another hour. If I want my baby to sleep with the room at 28ºC because it is very hot this summer, I am going to program that when the thermostat marks 29ºC the air conditioning will turn on. All this and so much more are examples of how home automation gives us more and more facilities in our day to day. Before, this type of installation was expensive, but with the expansion of IoT (Internet of things) home automation, a lot of low-cost devices have been created to make us feel like we are in a modern home at an affordable price. There are mainly two families of elements that we are installing on the market, elements controlled by a Wi-Fi network or elements controlled by a Zigbee network. The Zigbee network has a significant advantage over Wi-Fi, since it improves the connection of the elements and does not consume the Internet in order to have better signals on our mobile devices and computers.  On the other hand, it is somewhat more expensive than the elements controlled by the Wi-Fi network. In functionalities they are identical, both adapt to what you need. 17/07/2023Electric vehicle charging point facilities Nowadays, there are more and more electric vehicles, either using a mixture of electricity and another type of fuel or with a 100% electric system. This is because, in addition to being sustainable transport, the electric vehicle has other advantages, such as: They do not emit combustion gases, which means that they are environmentally friendly. You will be able to manage energy you need, in addition to use renewable energy They can recover part of the braking energy by feeding the batteries. Electric vehicles have a greater acceleration capacity at low revolutions per minute. Motors are more efficient and quieter. This leads to an increase in the installation of electric vehicles charging points, at private level as well as in companies and gas stations (electrostations). This leads to an increase in the installation of electric vehicles charging points, at private level as well as in companies and gas stations (electrostations). Classification according to charging modes Mode 1. This mode uses a usual plug (shucko socket). It is usually used on small motorcycles, bicycles or electric scooters. This type of socket is not recommended for more powerful vehicles since it does not include any type of electric protection. Mode 2. It is a slow recharge mode where a shucko socket is also used through a portable communication cable. It is usually used in plug-in hybrid vehicles (never in 100% electric vehicles), and only sporadically as they do not have electrical protections. Mode 3. t is the most widespread charging mode and also, the most recommended. It is used for electric vehicles through a point installed with the electrical protections to guarantee safe operation. The recharge can be single-phase or three-phase and it is considered semi-fast. The connectors used in this mode are type 1 or type 2. Mode 4. This mode allows the vehicle to be quickly recharged through direct current stations, which are the ones that are usually located in charging stations or in public car parks. Its use is recommended sporadically to make a long journey, but not regularly, as it can damage the battery. In this mode the CHAdeMO or CSS connectors are used. Classification according to connector types Type 1. It is also known as SAE J1772 or Yazaki connector. This type of connector is used in vehicles in the US and Asia and allows charging up to 19 kW in single-phase charging. Type 2. Another name for this type of charger is IEC 62196 type 2 or Mennekes charger. It is the standard connector throughout Europe and allows both single-phase and three-phase recharges up to 44 kW. The charging mode used with this type of connector is mode 3. CHAdeMO. It is the usual type of connector for Japanese brand vehicles and allows fast charging through a mode 4 DC charging point. Combo (CCS). This type of connector is the standard for fast direct current charging throughout Europe. It is found mainly in electric stations. 08/06/2023Types of Photovoltaic installations A photovoltaic installation is an energy capture system designed to supply electricity through solar energy. As the energy comes from the sun, an inexhaustible source of supply, the electricity generated is renewable and environmentally-friendly. Types Photovoltaic installations Grid-connected photovoltaic power system It is the most usual case, over 90% of the installations we do. The property where the solar panels are installed is already connected to the utility grid. Its operation is very simple, during the sun hours, when the panels produce energy, the electrical consumption is taken from the photovoltaic installation. When they are not producing enough energy, the electricity will come either the solar panels and the utility grid. Otherwise, when there is no sun, the energy will be completely used from the utility grid. In the event of a power cut, the photovoltaic installation stops producing energy because, being connected to the grid, it needs it for its operation. Installation feeds excess power to the grid: The photovoltaic installation produces 100% of what it can produce at all times and the surplus that the user does not consume is sold to the local grid energy company. Installation without surplus compensation. The installation produces only what the user needs (as long as there is enough sun). Isolated photovoltaic installation. The installation is not connected to the utility grid, and, therefore, it does not need it to work. In this case, the user will only be able to use electricity when the photovoltaic installation is producing energy, (with the exception of the installation with batteries, if batteries have stored energy, the user will be able to use it until it runs out). As it is not connected to the utility grid, in this modality it is not possible to discharge and compensate the surplus produced by the installation. Components Solar cells. Devices that capture electrical energy from the sun. They can be monocrystalline, polycrystalline or thin-film. We install the monocrystalline type because of its efficiency and its quality/price ratio. Depending on the power of the chosen panels and the manufacturer, their dimensions will be larger or smaller. Structures. Supports where the solar panels will be anchored and screwed. Depending on the surface where they will be installed, we will choose inclined or coplanar structures Inverter. Device that changes direct current from de cell panels to alternating current, which is the one used in homes, industries, etc. Smart meter. Electronic device that, depending on the user’s consumption needs at all times, regulates the electricity that the photovoltaic installation needs to generate and, if it is not enough, extracts the rest of the electricity supply from the utility grid. Direct current supply box. Electrical box where the direct current protections of the installation are installed. Alternating current supply box. Electrical box where the alternating current protections of the installation are installed. Visualization application. Mobile and web application to visualize the electricity consumption and production of the photovoltaic installation so the user can manage energy more efficiently. Battery. Device where the energy generated by the installation is accumulated and has not been consumed at the time of generation. This energy will be used when the photovoltaic installation cannot generate everything the user needs. It is an optional component of the installation and usually makes it quite expensive, however, there are also subsidies to be able to install them. Componentes de una instalacion fotovoltaica con vertido o sin vertido a la red electric Back-up box. Device that is installed only in case of having installed battery. It is responsible for supplying current to a series of loads that are considered and configured as critical to guarantee their operation in the event of power outages. Optimizers. Devices that are installed (optionally) on the solar panels that are shaded, at some time of the day, to prevent the reduction of the installation performance. Electrical wiring. Specific and special wires that are used for each part of the installation (direct current, alternating current and data) [...]
